Carol Prodan has served on the faculties of the University of Richmond, Piedmont Baptist College, North Carolina Music Academy, the University of North Carolina Summer Music Camp and the University of Delaware.
She has taught class piano, applied piano and accompanied for individuals and choirs. She has performed with the Greensboro Symphony, the Greensboro Youth Orchestra, the University of Delaware Orchestra and performed live on National Public Radio. Currently, she maintains an active private studio and collaborates with various local musicians. Ms. Prodan earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and a Master of Music degree in Collaborative Piano, also from UNCG. Ms. Prodan studied harpsichord with Ms. Elaine Funaro and Dr. Barbara Hill. Her piano teachers have included Dr. Joseph DiPiazza, Dr. George Kiorpes and the acclaimed pedagogue and pianist, Marvin Blickenstaff. Ms. Prodan is past president of the UNCG Musical Arts Guild and past president of the Delaware State Music Teachers Association (DSMTA). She is a member of the Charlottesville Music Teachers Association where she also serves as Advertising Chairman. Ms. Prodan is a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and obtained her national certification from that institution in 2011. She served as a Certification Commissioner for the Eastern Division for MTNA from 2014-2016. The students in Ms. Prodan’s music studio participate in state-wide festivals and regional competitions. Some have gone on to pursue music on the college level and music careers thereafter. |
